Wait, what? 2017, seriously? How the hell did 2016 pass us by so quickly?!
One of my favourite things to write about is what I’ve been loving for the past few weeks. Seeing as its a brand new year and I haven’t done a favourites post in a while, I thought this is the perfect opportunity to update you on some new products I’ve been using lately!
WOW Facial Mask Treatment
As I’ve mentioned previously here, my skin is very difficult to keep under control. One minute, my skin is clear and radiant, then the following morning, its dry, spotty and uneven. After years of suffering these recurring breakouts, my skin is left with some imperfections I find hard to get rid of.
I normally have to be very particular about what I can use on my face, so when I was approached by the team at WOW masks to try their product, I had to do a little research to make sure the formula won’t break me out. The mask itself claims to smooth skin texture, brighten the skin, improve elasticity, cure skin blemishes as much more… a big promise from a face mask!
After my first time using a mask (Christmas Eve), I was seriously impressed with how even and bright my skin looked – perfect for Christmas day! I have used about two more masks since, and my skin just keeps getting better and better. Without sounding like a terrible cliche, my skin has never felt as smooth. The thing I have personally noticed since using the masks is how comfortable I have become without wearing make-up to cover my now fading imperfections.
If anyone reading this is desperate for a treatment to give their skin new life, this would be the perfect for you. If you want to try the mask for yourself, you can shop WOW products HERE.
MAC Brave Red lipstick & Follow Your Heart liner
Red lipstick + me = match made in HEAVEN! I adore rocking red lips – mostly in the evening time, but if you’re feeling a little tired, its amazing for brightening your face up (especially reds with blue undertones). My usual choice when it comes to bright lips is MAC Red, but I started to find the formula a little drying on my lips, especially in the winter when my lips tend to get naturally more dry. After speaking to an assistant in my local MAC store, she recommended Brave Red. The formula is much more moisturising and creamier, as well as being a little bit darker in shade – perfect for winter. She also suggested Follow Your Heart liner to match, although I must say, the colour isn’t an exact match with the lipstick. None the less, I like using the liner all over my lips as a colour on its own, as well as under the lipstick.
Oil Painting Set
A lot of people don’t know this about me, but I consider myself a very arty person! I love drawing, painting, even doodling, so when I got a new job which gave me a few more hours in the day to myself, I decided I wanted to take up oil painting as a hobby. Now, I am not sure exactly where this set is from as it was a Christmas present, but I love this kit! It comes complete with chrome brushes, graphite, tons of shades, a mixing pallet and linseed oil. The quality of the materials in this set is amazing, and it’s really re-ignited some of my creativity I had when I painted in high school a few years ago.
Zara Yellow Suede City Bag
I am such a bag girl, I think they can pull a drab outfit together. Having said that, I noticed I was stuck in a rut when it came to buying bags – all I owned where black, leather bags! I decided to branch out and picked out this yellow suede bag from Zara. I had never seen it in the shop, only online, so was a tad apprehensive when choosing this particular bag as I couldn’t be sure about the exact colour or size, but when it arrived, I fell in love with it! I love mixing textures, so pairing the suede with a leather jacket works really well for me. Since getting this bag, I’ve been on the lookout for more coloured bags that really make an outfit pop, and I’m so glad I decided to break the monotony of black.
EasyAcc Mini Portable Speaker
This particular item was a stocking filler really, but since Christmas, I can’t believe how much I’ve found myself using it! The little speaker connects to your phone/device either wireless, or using a small cable provided so its really easy to use and you can take it pretty much anywhere with you. The sound quality is amazing and volume level is really good too. At first, I didn’t think I’d use it a lot, but found myself connecting my iPhone and playing my music when I’m getting ready of a morning, cooking, painting, whenever! Phone calls can also be connected through the speaker which is handy. Lastly, I love the size. It’s so easy to pop in your bag and take it wherever you need it!
Marks and Spencer’s Winter Berry and Prosecco Crisps
Finally, the last thing I want to talk about are these VERY unusual berry and prosecco crisps from Marks and Spencer. Again, these are something that was given to me as a sort of stocking filler, and they are so peculiar! They are both sweet and savory as well as being covered in gold stars – talk about fancy! I just can’t get enough of them. With them being a Christmas product, I’m not sure they will still be available to purchase now, but if you get a chance next year, try them out!
