From Top: Whirl, Creme In Your Coffee, Velvet Teddy, Boldly Bare (liner)
Ah MAC, we meet again…
It’s been a LONG time since I’ve treated myself to some MAC goodies, and browsing through the MAC counter at Beauty Bazaar, I got that all to familiar feeling of wanting everything I touched.
In the end, I decided on three lipsticks, a lip liner and a concealer. I have had a thing for muted, darkish blush colours lately (is that even a thing?) – something very Kylie Jenner. These shades are perfect for autumn and very big right now throughout major fashion campaigns.
The three colours I went for are:
- Whirl (Matte) – I have wanted to try this colour since Fashion Influx posted about it. It’s quite a dark nude, yet has a hint of pink so it doesn’t wash out my complexion. This shade really compliments a pale skin tone and would be perfect for a daytime lip when you want to stand out a little.
- Creme In Your Coffee (Cremesheen) – Very similar to Whirl, yet a Cremesheen finish. There is more of a pink undertone to this one, and the texture is a little more translucent and glossy.
- Velvet Teddy (Matte) – I wasn’t planning on getting Velvet Teddy, but when the make-up artist tried it out on me, it really suited my skin tone, and is basically a lighter, more wearable version of Whirl, yet a little more pigmented than Creme In Your Coffee. This one is a great everyday and the easiest to wear out of all my new colours.
Next, I got Boldly Bare lip liner. Again, this was a recommendation from the artist, and blends perfectly with every colour I purchased.
Finally to the concealer!
My skin tends to break out more when the temperature drops, and i’m already starting to notice it! I usually wear MAC Pro-Longwear concealer if I have anything major I need to cover, but I have started to find it a little too drying, and I don’t usually like using it under my eyes for that reason. I had a play around with some various concealers and decided this one looked like the one for me, both moisturizing without compromising on the coverage.
Final thought – Bring it on autumn, I’m ready for you!
