Here I am at quarter to one in the morning, somehow still awake after 8 hours trailing Bond Street, but god, was it worth it.
Today was the Marks & Spencer’s press day in their press showroom, Bond Street. The whole display was very minimal, featuring monochrome mannequins and black and white pictures (mostly vintage Twiggy). To be honest, M&S is more of a mature look than I would usually go for, but there where some specific garments I was drawn to. A silver pleated midi skirt that resembled A/W Marni and a delicate orange maxi beach dress certainly caught my eye, but not as much as the lingerie. There was some beautiful satin and lace slips to be worn underneath dresses or to bed, but I 100% would wear them as a dress with some barely there heels, keeping within the ‘underwear as outerwear’ trend that I am obsessed with at the minute.
Within the simplistic showroom, a bar stood in the corner holding some decadent cocktails and bubbly, just what I needed as a pick-me-up.
Also, a lovely gesture was given to me when I set off to leave – a calf skin leather travel tag, embossed with my initials E.R.O (Ella Roberts-O’Prey). Such a lovely touch, and this will come in very handy as I am going to be flying to Dubai next month!
Last of all, I popped into Selfridges and spotted a pair of blush mid-block heels in the Selfridges Topshop concession. After a half an hour debate with myself, I decided to buy them. What are your thoughts, tres chic o tres faux?
Massive thank you to Marks&Spencer’s for an exciting afternoon – see the video’s below featuring my personalized gift.
